Greetings!
I've been in touch with pSi.Grast and talked about arranging a friendly CW (Clan War). He's an old friend of mine in the community and we've often have some personal rivalries. As such, he also suggested that me and him cast the CW games, which I of course think is a great idea!
Now, to get to the more specifics of the clan war. He mentioned that they could probably get about 4 other people to play, but he wasn't entirely certain. We also haven't set an exact date yet, but we're looking at a Wednesday in one of the next ~3 weeks. This might alter a bit, depending on what's best for people overall.
I also think it's important to stress that this isn't a CW where I think we should set up players to give us the highest chance of winning. I want this to be an opportunity for those of you who wants to play in a CW. This will also serve as somewhat of a preliminary to BWCL as far as organization goes. Are people interested? Do people respond? Do people show up? These are important things me and XzOz.ReV will keep track of. You don't need to respond or participate in order to be part of the clan. But if you want to play CWs and especially if you want to play in BWCL, this is your chance to show that you can be counted on. Skill level and activity is not important - being dependable is. There's no point signing up for BWCL if we keep forfeiting due to people who don't show up.
This might sounds very serious and/or hardcore to some, but please remember that you can still come and play fun and friendly CWs without feeling obliged to show up for every BWCL or anything. It's perfectly fine to be dependable for friendly CWs but say no to BWCL where there's more of a competative atmosphere. Showing up for friendly CWs does not equal signing up for serious ones. To follow on that train of thought, I'd like to add a bit about who we'll prioritze for this CW against pSi..
There are 3 main criteria;
1. Do you want to play? Some of you might not be interested in playing. You might want to show up and be there to hang around, or maybe simply to just watch the VOD at a later point. And that's fine. But if you really want to play, it'd be nice if you say so here or send a message telling me or XzOz. Your skill is irrelevant. If you want to play, that alone makes us want to prioritize you.
2. Have you played a lot before? Or do you get to play CWs in other settings? If you have an extensive experience with CWs from before, you might need to step aside and let those with less experience through. For instance, I've played/participated in a whole bunch of CWs. Therefore, it'd be natural that I sit this one out and let someone who's barely ever played a CW before take my place.
3. Do you pay attention? This is probably the most important one. If you really want to play, it doesn't matter if you show up on the same day as the CW and tell us AFTER the lines ups have been drafted. You need to tell us beforehand. You also need to respond to the CW thread, which I'll make when all information is ready. Tell us if you can come, if you can't come, if you want to but you're not sure. Whatever is your situation. If you want to play, keep participating in the threads.
Sorry for all this information. But I find it's important to be open about how we plan to organize the CWs. This is both so that everyone knows why they might not get to play, how they can increase their chances to play, but also so that you can have your say in the matter. If you think it's unfair or stupid, then you're free to voice your opinion. If anything, we welcome it! No one gains from anyone suffering in silence. Voice your disconcerns and we can at least talk it over and hopefully find good solutions that will make as many people as possible happy =)
And that is the very most important thing of this all - that we can find greated enjoyment of the game together, rather than alone. We are a clan. That means we don't just share the game, but also we share a piece of ourselves. Even if we only see each others' nicks, some letters on a screen or a voice in our ears - YOU are there. As are we. Your enjoyment matters just as much as everyone elses, so please for the love of all that is good, talk to us. Share your thoughts.
Lastly, when all information has been prepared, I'll make a new thread. In that thread, I'll set it up the way we'll make all CW threads. It'll look much cleaner and organized than this thread, as this is more a weather baloon than the real organization. Nevertheless, we would love to hear all your thoughts.
I will not send a link to the CW thread when all information is ready. Paying attention to that thread is your responsibility if you would like to play, in accordance with Point 3 in this post.
So, you guys in? Anyone wanna play in the CW? =)
Sincerely, the Management;
Incomplete.ReV and XzOz.ReV
