This last Sunday ReV played once again to secure their top spot in DIV-C. We are currently in 2nd and next week we will face the 3rd place, which has the same points as us (30!). Not wasting anymore of your time, as you will waste some reading what's below
MOTW: Reap the Storm (1v1) Multiverse (2vs2)
1vs1:
Madinho vs Raynor
This would eventually be the spotlight of the Clanwar if these two players were to meet. Luckily we had it and an amazing set of TvsT was played.
GAME 1:
Starting off by introducing the map, Reap the Storm, shows a lot of options related with map control for TvT, some high grounds here and there, some droppable spots. All in all, a pretty neat map with plenty of gas to be extracted.
Both players started off building towards a healthy economy and a steady early to mid game. Not a lot of harassment done in the initial 5 minutos of the duel as both focused on getting a bit more of tech and buildings, making it possible to start applying their pressure.
Startport was in fact the comomn factor in both players builds, as Raynor build 2 starports(massing up some wraiths) while Madinho took a more conservative stance and only built one. Stealth came into play pretty soon after that. Scouting was the action of choice of the terrans on both sides of the disput. A later comsat station from Madinho, gave Raynor a small lead, however with the 2nd Starport done, the ReV Terran matched up pretty nicely in trades, getting closer and closer to Raynor's firepower. Eventually more expantions were taken by both players.
Securing aereas of the map was their biggest concern. Battling for quite some time in the mid game, Tanks/Gols/Wraiths, did their best to serve their own master. Slowly the map got filled with CC's from both players. Gas is still the MVP in every TvT.
Trades started to get pretty unbalanced as Madinho took a couple of big clashes, coming out on top and securing the remaining gas bases. The population gap fixed at around 150 vs 196/200(in favour of Madinho) for pretty much the whole start of late game. From that point on, Raynor had his options reduced and moving out was the only way to regain some control. Battlecruisers showed Raynor that it was too late for such a move. 5 minutes after the showing of BC's power, Raynor tapped out.
GAME 2:
Raynor picked Circuit Breaker as the 2nd map. A standart openning from both sides, with rax-gas-fact-machineshop-CC@natural.
Madinho pushed forward with some tanks/vults/scvs/marines and started a light contain at Raynor's natural entrance. Looked like Dinho was at the hotel lobby but Raynor had no rooms to rent. A solid macro gave, the AyaC Terran, some confidence to break out of the contain. As it turn out, Madinho got his 3rd pumping(with gas), giving Raynor room to set up his position at the mid map(closer to the 9 o'clock gas base). Mines came into play, as they give vision to Raynor. Small drop in Raynor's main, impact was minimum. Both players carried on securing more expansions at their own risk. Eventually our Terran would be one expansion up. But at what cost?
Dropships seemed to be the deciding factor during mid game, besides that, the need for better eco was the primary goal. Map slip situation was expected and at 18:00 exactly, it's complete.
With both players maxed, Raynor takes the 1st move. Destroying a mineral-only at 1 o'clock and forcing a lift at 12 o'clock (gas expansion). On the other hand, Madinho's counter was at the 9 o'clock, leaving Raynor's mid line of tanks with holes. Raynor's attack continue towards 2 o'clock base (natural). It's held here at the cost of some stuctures, but again, Battlecruisers saved the day.
From this point on, BC's were acompanied by some tanks wrecking Raynor's expansions. Raynor is back to 3 bases( two of them almost depleted, only main and natural gas to extract from). Madinho regained his chance to safely mine from 12 o'clock and gotten his side of the map rebuilding CC's and scv's.
Raynor moves out with his Gols/Tank army and destroys another mineral-only from Madinho. Game goes into a slower pace, as both players knows, the unit value is higher than never atm. Since both ecos were damaged, they hoped to do the best with the little they had now. Madinho still remainned in the lead, regarding population, but Raynor had more and more substancial attacks, destroying only armies and mineral only's. Eventually Madinho takes a shot at Raynor's main base. Takes all the factories out. A rather big force if moving, Raynor wants to secure the rest of the bases, but also kill some of Madinho's eco.
Both players take out a couple of expansions, but Raynor has no buildings to re-macro from. He GG's shortly after.
Madinho 2-0 Raynor

Phytress vs Loyito
GAME 1:
This is, yet again, a great moment for ReV. Today we got to see another debut in BWCL, Phytress[ReV]. Everytime I can get one of our younger members to play, I get really excited. It's a gamble sometimes, if you consider results the only good thing, but it's a gamble on an individual. I expect only to gain from it, whatever the outcome of the game.
Loyito started the game with a weird cannon rush behind Phy's main mineral line. Also sent some zealots and manner pylon to get some harass done. Goons solved this case, pushing up to 2 gates, our ReV Protoss moved out to get some payback. Unfortunately he faced 1 zealot and 2 Photon cannons, with a 3rd one warping. Loyito had a trick up his sleave, his initial harass gave him enough time to get a Nexus up. After that, Phy built a nexus for himself, at the natural. A bit more of zealot harass was displayed by the AyaC player. Some probes died unfortunately .
Both players went for citadel and archives. Our Protoss had a small tech lead with his robot and that granted him more vision over the map. Some dt harass was also used and got a small amount of probes. Loyito continues to set up a 3rd expansion as our ReV player, plans to dt drop the main base. This is seen and did low amount of damage to Loyito. After the eco lead, this would eventually translate into a bigger army for Loyito. He pushes into Phy's natural and it's GG.
GAME 2:
Phy picked Overwatch. No initial harass from both players, as they seemed to moved directly into goons. Loyito tho, decided to get a faster robot and reaver. Taking his nexus and defending correctly at his natural, he took the lead over Phytress with a push with goon and later a reaver and shuttle. The skill gap in this match was in fact clear. This means that Phytress understood even better the kind of improvements and mindset he needs to be envolved this league.
Phytress 0-2 Loyito

uNLeAsh vs Cabrita
GAME 1:
This match eventually got to be only played 1 set of the bo3. AyaC)Cabrita couldnt be online for the remaining games. We took w.o. after this was crystal clear.
However, we've got ourselves a P vs Z!! Hurrayy!
uNLeaSh started with a Forge+cannon+nexus vs the usual response from the Swarm, overpool. LAME. So moving on, slowly but steady lings move out, nearing Protoss natural base, they are scared away by cannons. 3rd expansion(gas) is taken by the Zerg.
Spire starts at the correct timing, but so is stargate, so we see a corsair doing some scouting and of course, trying to kill at least one overlord. uNleash techs up pretty fast, and tho he lost some sairs, he's expected to move out around the 8 or 9 minute mark, with zeal +1 and dt. This attack has little success as the Zerg packs a lot of hidras. Knowing this, the Zergs makes his attack at the Protoss's 3rd. It's held but at what cost for the ReV player?
Cabrita secures his 4th. That fourth gas is a pain. Slowly, unleash sneaks another expansion at the 4 o'clock. Unleash pushes towards the natural and takes out hidra den. Get the Zerg a bit off balance but no huge damage done. Looking really firm, unleash secures yet another expansion and harasses Zerg's 3rd with storm in the mineral line. Final push at zerg's 3rd. Cabrita GG's after a long fight.
uNLeAsh 1-0 Cabrita (w.o. after the 1st set was played)
--------------------------------------------------------------------//------------------------------------------------------------
jLeo vs jhardy_cub
GAME 1:
This turned out to be a pretty exciting match. An action packed TvZ between these two.
Tipical 12hact vs Rax+CC. Both players thinking about economy before any sort of attack. JHardy goes for lurker and starts his 3rd at 3 o'clock. A fight brakes out, JLeo is pushed back by ling/lurk but eventually takes that army down with better position a few seconds later. Tanks are included in T's army comp, but a strong engage by the Zerg, wrecks that bioball. Slowly Zerg reaches that Hive tech that he badly needs. Defiler and ultralisk cavern started. The ReV Terran knows this and drops the main while pushing from the front with tanks. Eventually the Zerg's main base is destroyed. Leaving the Zerg with his 3rd and no tech. GG was written soon after that.
GAME 2:
The tileset was twilight and the map, Overwatch. Amazing commentaries written by me. Much wow. Much amaze.
Zerg player did 5 pool. Jleo held the ramp like a brave brave man. Having a 1-0 lead, JLeo decided to not move in response to such an early rush. Secured his natural, giving Zerg the time to drone and tech. Lurker tech was the weapon of choice by the Zerg. Eventually both players traded bases, leaving JLeo behind, since he couldnt take the 3rd and the 2nd exp, while losing his natural to swarm and lurker. This game shouldnt have gone this far, jLeo :S
GAME 3: This is the GAME 3 that should not have been played, if jLeo killed that 5pooler xD.
The map choice by our Terran was Grand Line SE. Pretty standart map, with all 4 spawns in the corners. Just like FS/CB and others like it.
A similar openning to the 1st game is in effect by both parts. jLeo builds up towards Marine & Medic while Jhardy works on spire so some muta harass can begin. Burrow is getting more and more hype as being a really good tool to scout and obtain map control. This was a particular good detail i've noticed from this Zerg. SKT-1 Terran was the build of choice. Meanwhile Zerg took the top left main as his 3rd. With the Terran's army move out, Zerg attacked with Muta/Ling, his fragile natural, forcing an scv pull and wrecking some turrets and depots. jLeo was moving out to kill the Z's 3rd, but had to react to this and sent his army back. Will he get back on time?
A lot of dmg was done, mining interrupted. Terrans needs to stabilize and that he does. Zerg however moved up in tech tree and lurker is ready. Similar to several attacks, Zerg goes for T natural, when a huge bio ball is out, destroying Z's 3rd.
The defiler/lurker/ling, proves to be too strong and jLeo GG's.
jLeo 1-2 jHardy_cub
NOTE: *2-2 at this point*

2vs2:
Bati+Madinho vs Raynor+Loyito
GAME 1:
Our impressive 2v2 team had once again to garantee ReV victory in the clan war. No doubt they were the best to do such a thing.
Map was Multiverse. Madinho spawned as a Zerg and Bati as a P, vs Loyito's P and Raynor's T. With a small tech lead, Bati managed to pressure Loyito with his goons. After that and while Madinho zoned out Raynor's vulture, they swapped and took out the Terran player, Raynor. Eventually Loyito tapped out as he was forced to play a 2vs1 from that moment on. He gg'd after his choke defense fell apart.
GAME 2:
AyaC) picked Grand Line SE as the 2nd map. Madinho spawned as Zerg, and Bati has Terran. Loyito and Raynor spawned on the top side of the map, with their mains races. After a simple win in the 1st match, ReV 2v2 team showed they wouldnt want to give anything, starting off with expanding (Zerg) and teching (Terran).
Their oponnents in response, planned 2 gate zealots with 2 rax marines in support. With esquisite control, Madinho holds of the initial pressure. Bati is shortly after with the response. Vultures. ReV countered attack by pressuring Raynor. Unfortunately, Loyito was containned by mines and his Terran partner GG'ed. He did the same moments after. DRAMA! uh?!
Well another win another Sunday
Thanks again for everyone that showed up and supports ReV. Although the results have been a strong aspect of our dynamic in BWCL, I have to say I've never felt this good managing people in SC:R or even in other platforms of life (work, family, country, shit like that).
For that reason: THANK YOU EVERYONE! <3 REV
