My summer vacation is over and I'm back in force and more! And with me comes also some changes, updates and information in general. Here's the subjects I'll be going through in this post:
1. Hirmu becoming admin in ReV
2. STPL starting 22. September
3. Quick comment regarding BWCL
4. My plans/schedule for the following months
5. Who'll take over as leader in December?
6. Regarding activity

1. Hirmu becoming admin in ReV
As announced previously, Hirmu[ReV] has joined our ranks and has also said yes to join our management. He was the leader of FBW, who we faced in STPL. I always had very good experiences with Hirmu as a leader of his squad. So when Faust joined and it seemed likely FBW wouldn't continue in the STPL, I jumped right on him and sent him an invitation. I rarely headhunt these days, but Hirmu was one such person who was very high on my wish list. I'm very happy that he said yes to joining us, and even takes part in our management.
We've talked it over some prior, however as of today he is officially an admin of ReV.
2. STPL starting 22. September
It's good that we have more admins in our management, for STPL is drawing near. This season will be much shorter than last, and it'll also be one big round robin, rather than the rounds we had last season. This means that we'll face all the other teams once, and based on the results we'll either get into the playoffs or not. To get more extensive information, you can see Qikz' official thread here: tl.net/forum/brood-war/550405-stpl-season-2-starts-22-09-2019
As in previous season, the line ups will be announced one week prior to the CW. This means I'll ask you to play roughly one week in advance. I will prioritizing the strongest players, as we have a strong competative focus in the STPL. However, hard workers will gain priority over skilled players if I see someone putting in a lot of effort into preparation for their games. If you're strong but never try, I'd rather invest in someone willing to get somewhere. Nevertheless, what's most important is to avoid walk overs. Whether you're lazy or a crappy player, if I ask you it is because you're the best option available.
You have one week to prepare for each match, and I expect you to make an effort when you play in the clan war.
In the clan wars we send 4 players each. I.e., 4 1v1s. All matches are Best of 1. If the result of the clan war is a tie (2-2), there is to be an Ace match to decide who wins the clan war. The Ace is never announced to our opponents until last second.
The clan wars either start at 18.00 CEST/CET, or 16.00 CEST/CET. 18.00 CEST/CET is the standard time, but if we're facing clans with Koreans we play at 16.00 CEST/CET.
I've added the mappack to this post. Please download it and start practicing! There's also observer versions of the maps which wasn't able to fit into this post. If you want them, please contact me and you'l have them in a jiffy
I will be setting up friendly clan wars prior to the new season to get people some practice, and get used to the setting. I have high hopes for this season, and still persist my strong belief in what many of you may accomplish.
3. Quick comment regarding BWCL
I've only been following our BWCL run from the sidelines, as NarsiL has single-handedly handled the whole thing. But I just wanted to give a big shoutout to NarsiL for his handling, and all the players who've played. Some new, some old, and in general you guys have had a great season. Well done all!
4. My plans/schedule for the following months
These are my last months as leader of ReV, and my last time available to be able to accomplish any of the things I wish to accomplish. As such, I'll be putting more time and effort into BW and the clan than I think I've done before. But this means juggling work, married life, and brood war. So I've set up a schedule for how I'll distribute my time henceforth. The reason I'm telling you guys, is so that you know more or less when I'm likely to be easiest to get in touch with and such.
Mondays - no bw, only wife
Tuesdays - some admin work after work, and before Bible group. Mostly announce STPL line ups and such.
Wednesdays - play/stream from 17.00-21.00, no admin work
Thursdays - admin work/play, depending on what's most important. Time frame; 16.30-20.00
Fridays - sometimes clan events, sometimes with wife
Saturdays - mostly with wife, but probably some admin work here or there, and a game here and there. Will likely be online to watch clan mates in BSL and such, if that should be the case.
Sundays - wife in the morning, then clan war(s). Will show up online about an hour prior to the CW. Sometimes I'll also watch ASL/KSL in the morning.
I want to see how far I can reach, and I also want to see how far we can reach together. There's many hard workers and great assets in our clan. And I'm very happy about the state of our clan! As a leader I must often remind myself that I'm not necessarily supposed to be everyone's best friend, but I'm supposed to have everyone's best interest at heart. And seeing friendships form, people talking and hanging, discussing politics, or music - all of these things I observe with the biggest smile! Companionship is and will always be what's most important in ReV. We can strive for skill and results as much as we want, but that's always what'll make me the proudest. The quality of character. I'm proud to stand beside such people as you in ReV, and I hope you'll want to push further to see how high we can get in the STPL.
Also, shoutout to noNat[ReV] who built me a new computer so I could start streaming and play without having too much trouble! Not only did he build it and prepare everything, he even gave it to me for free! The only thing I had to pay for was a harddisc for roughly 30$.
5. Who'll take over as leader in December?
As announced earlier, I'll be resigning as leader in December. I will of course act as leader as usual up until then, but some date in December (haven't decided on the exact date yet) I will resign from my duties. I've spoken with NarsiL[ReV] and he has said yes to taking over as leader when I resign in December.
NarsiL has been with us for a long time now, and is the most senior member of the management aside from myself. He works hard and has been very reliable. Throughout the next months I'll keep informing him about various stuff I do, what my routines are and such. And he'll help out doing many of them - for instance recruitment. However, when he takes over he is of course free to change routines and such as he pleases. I'll just show him how I do things and want things done until I resign, and after that it's up to him.
I'm confident you'll all be in safe hands!
Furthremore, I'll also be working on adding more members to the management. Be it new recruits or current members, I want to have a larger management to be able to handle things. Being an admin can very easily burn you out, especially when alone. Hence, I want to make certian that when I leave, it'll be with a strong and reliable management to handle things for years to come.
6. Regarding activity
As mentioned in my last Irregular Update, I'll be more strict regarding activity. This also includes how often you check the forum and stay updated on the state of the clan. Some members have certain exceptions, due to past contributions to the clan. I think i've spoken with most of those it concerns. Other than that, I've been quite happy with the rise in activity since last time. In general, I am content as it seems today! And if not, you will hear from me well before you're in any danger of being removed
I wish you all a happy week, and I'll get back to you all regarding clan events and clan wars to come!
