I'm testing out alot of builds vs zergs lately. And figured out that if i dont og cors i get insanely more units. And can take a 3'rd faster. + Maelstorm to protect me from muta harras. I get 4-5 HT and such without the corsiers. Maybe add in the corsiers later when teching into arbiter, to sheep in the overlords.
I saw Oya beat Whistler With this build, we have studied it for a bit, even played vs eachoter With vision on, i went cors he only units. Its insane how much more units he got, we tried to attack each other in the middle after 8-9 mins. He had almost the hole army left, and I had only my 6 cors left.
I know many Things about not going cors. The zerg have alot more vision, the DT harras will not be as good. And zerg can use larva on units and drones, not overlord. But a cors cost 150-100. And a overlord cost 100 minerals. When u make 5-6 cors, u get to kill maybe if Lucky 7-8 overlords during a long game. But the cors dosnt help you protect ur 3'rd vs mass hydras or lings.
And most zerg players Tech into spire, and make a wall so you cant harras anything, u get less army when he attack you later on.
Scouting may be the biggest problem. But if u can keep ur probe alive to know if he goes hydra bust or not, then you should be good.
What u guys think?

Seems like you are already considering a lot. Some additional questions: - What are you comfortable with? - What's the most fun opener? - Are there more possibilities for exploiting corsairs, like using DT's for getting early third or reaver harass? - How much is information worth in PvZ? How many corsairs do you really need (depends on information I suppose)? - How does corsairs affect his information? - How does it affect his viable strategies? - Are there some maps where corsair is best and some where it's not? I am no Tassadar, so I can only ask general questions to help you figure out what you already know

muta micro demands presence of corsairs. way back, it was an information tool. Now it's a pop limiter/scout/eco destroier/dt.opener/map control vs overlords all game.

I feel like going no Corsair forces a slower pace, where you need to focus on building up slowly into a monster army, rather than harassing all over the place. Without the Corsairs, the Shuttles become much more voulnerable and as such harassment is even harder. So the Zerg can just macro up and become a monster of its own. I'm also a bit unsure to which extent the increase in protoss army is large enough to outweigh the increase in zerg army. Even though it's just 100 minerals, I reckon killing overlords and forcing the zerg to produce more also delays further unit and/or drone production. As such, I reckon the no-corsair build is dependant on certain timing attacks which can punish the zerg somehow. However, seeing how good zergs are with sim cities, how possible will that be with a force consisting of mainly zealots and likely an archon (as I reckon most zergs will go muta if they scout that there's no corsair). I guess it can work, but I do feel the plan must be to turtle up a death ball to steamroll the zerg with. Else from that, I much prefer corsairs to help with air superiority, in order to keep the zerg on his toes. I also think that's especially important if you're good at multitasking and the zerg isn't. If you are able to put up a lot of fires all over the place, the zerg won't be able to macro properly at all. It'll get him out of his flow, thus making your more in command of the flow of the game. At least those are my D+ thoughts, so feel free to shoot down any logical fallacies
