Hi, since there is no dedicated thread for self introduction, I felt I have to create one and I want to encourage everyone to introduce himself, too. Doesn't have to be as detailed as mine has become, tho. General:I'm Caspas (.ReV from now on) aka gabrielverlaine aka Gabriel. I am a 31yo protoss-player from germany. My MMR atm is 1201 and my APM ranges between 50 and 60 (really!) and I've never been in a clan before. The following introduction turned out to be kinda detailed, so I added some headlines, so everyone can choose whats interesting to him. Clan - Why?:- I wanna play Broodwar and improve.
- I can't seem to find too many good games in B-net. Either my oponent is much to weak or too strong.
- I've always been more the lone wolf kind of guy, but came to realize improving should be much faster with some coaching.
- I'm just not smart enough to work out everything by myself
- I may not be able to make BW great again, but contributing to keeping it alive until someone comes who is able to, is good enough
ReV - Why?:
- I cannot stand IdrA, NaniwA and the likes,... you know what I'm getting at
- I suffer from twitch chat
- You accept everyone (skillwise), I will be able to improve without force.
- STPL-Interview - Looking for Clan-Thread on TL
My Starcraft-Background:My first contact with Starcraft multiplayer must have been around 1999 with my cousin via LAN. The first magic moment in Starcraft was when my cousin overrun me with pure archon. They looked cool and I wanted to mass them the following game myself. However all I discovered was there is no building to pro- duce them. When my cousin told me I have to merge 2 HT I fell In love with this game, because this and many other aspects of Starcraft seemed very creative and different form what I knew (Warcraft II) back in the days. Between 1999 and 2007 I I was able to play online multiplayer on rare occasions, were the second magic moment happened: During one of my first games online, a 3v3 or 4v4 on hunters, I was going to build up my tech tree to mass carriers (always 1 structure at a time!), when one of my allies told me I should build 6 gateways! I didn't know, what that should be good for but soon I began to realize the reason why my opp- onents, always had that much more units than me. Suddenly I could win some games online! From 2007 onwards I was able to play online whenever I wanted. In addition I found out about Broodwar being big business with Pros, leagues and everything. "GOMTV TG Sambo-Intel Classic Season 1" came in, around the same time there where german Broodwar casts on ESL.tv by StoneD and FlyingDJ. Both of those formats were packed with entertainment and great insight into the game. Those where the turning points regarding Broodwar in my life. And since around 2008 my learning curve has stagnated... When Starcraft 2 was released, I quit playing and watching BW up until last year. In SC2 I could play Platinum conviniently and even catched a small glimpse into diamond. Outside of Starcraft:
I'm quite the fanatic regarding tolerance, (personal) freedom, privacy and I try to keep sustainable lifestyle. I go to a bouldering (climbing) gym regularely. My humour is regarded as quite strange and often tasteless. Cheers

Hello Guys, I use the same thread to introduce myself So I am InDi, Spanish Protoss around 2.1K mmr at the moment. I joined .ReV because I had been looking for a team since I came back to BW, I joined aSh, but there was too many inactive players, and .ReV looked like a nice place to go since I crossed some of you on ladder and you guys seemed cool Maybe some of you know me from before, I played BW between 2002 until 2009-10 (Sc2 release made me finally quit). I played for Spain National team, was B+ on iccup at the time, so overall I was a "good" player, far away from top players though, I was mainly LaoS.BoSs (Spanish team) and then I was also iFu.InDi for a short period didn´t like the team and went back to .BoSs . I decided to come back 5 or 6 months ago just 4fun, and then I got a bit into trying to be competitive again, I am really looking forward to playing with you all, and looking to train hard!! I feel like since I came back I haven´t reached the 'game sense' I had before, so it is getting kind of hard to go higher in terms of skill level at the moment! (Got stomped by Cadenzie this week in BSL, even though I had beaten her 3 times in ladder feelsbadman) And I think that's it, don´t hesitate adding me InDi.ReV.ReV!

I'll join in too!
Well, I am Incomplete.ReV, supreme dictator of clan ReV. One thing you might notice quite quickly, is that I might seem overly enthusiastic and positive. But quite frankly, it is how I truly feel. I can't express how happy it makes me to be back playing BW again and hanging out with you clan mates. When I say that I'm so happy I could burst, or that I love you or anything like that, I actually mean it. I believe in honesty - brutal honesty. And I give no compliments unless I really mean it. If you are a crappy noob, I will however try to find something positive to say about your play. I will not lie, but I will find something that makes me think something along the lines of; "Well, the execution was awful, but I like the thought" or "Well, his macro went to shit doing that macro, but it was still nice micro - well done!". And then I'll compliment it.
I want to build. I want to encourage and inspire. I want us to grow together and form our own future. Even if it's just a silly game, and even though we all have our lives which are more important, this is what I love. BW is such an amazing game and I have never had the same feeling or experience with any other game (the nearest being Final Fantasy VII when I was playing it for the first few times). And even though Remastered was a crappy product and quite frankly a scandal, it doesn't deter me from wanting to keep going. Whining about Blizzard does not help. It does not build. And as such, I loathe all the "omg fuck you blizzard", "blizzard moneygrap", "blizzard hates us and wants to force us to play sc2"-threads and posts that pops up once in a while. Such hatred and bitterness does not build a future for BW. It leads to nothing less than lost motivation, anger and resignation.
Yes, Blizzard fucked up. But this is what it is now. If your house burns down, you down sit at the ground and whine about how unfair it is, how there should be rain that day to make the fire slow down, how the firemen messed up by coming too late or anything like that. You get up, straighten your back and you get to making the best out of a shitty situation. You do inform the firemen that it was bad to come so late, though. Just as we should inform the Dev Team whenever something doesn't work the way it should. If no one makes a complaint, the Dev Team might not even know there's a problem. But there's a difference in "omg Blizzard killed ladder" and "Blizzard, the ladder experience right now is quite bad. Is there a way to adjust the TR requirements so that we can play more Koreans?". Now, I*ve spent a lot of time on this subject, but it comes down to my basic philosophy.
Quite whining. If you can't find what you want, then make it happen yourself. Build! And it takes a naive, overly-loving fool like me to actually live by it. But the world is built by fools who disregarded likelihood. Who dared to believe in their vision. And even though most fools fail, I will at least know that I tried. Therefore, I don't only want to build this clan together with you guys. I also want to help build the community overall. I believe BW has a future, simply because of how good a game it is. It's timeless. And I believe that all it needs is to stay going as it does, to grow slowly, until one day someone or something extraordinary happens that shoots it back up.
It will never be the largest thing ever. But it can become large enough again. I wish to build towards this. I wish to endure these slow days, and enjoy it while I can.
As you might understand, I'm rather idealistic. Which also translates to my lifestyle overall. I try to buy stuff with as little plastic as possible. There's been several times I*ve bought a cholocate that is worse than what I really want, or a lot more expensive, simply because it doesn't have any plastic. We wash our plastic bags and reuse them, we have cloth bags we put vegetables and candy in, instead of plastic bags. And by "we", I mean me and my wife, whom I am desperately in love with and it simply keeps getting stronger. She doesn't understand my BW univers, but she understands and accepts that it's important to me. And therefore I am free to spend time with it. However, I also think it's important to realize how much she needs for us to spend time together. As such, I prioritize her as much as I can. Consequently, Sundays are pretty much the only day where we really have a lot of alone time together. Which is also why I very often rely on our admins to handle CWs and such. Sometimes I'll prioritize BW, but in general I want to spend time with my wife. Because I love her. I really, truly and dearly do.
Aside from all this idealistic stuff, I enjoy hiking, LOVE nature, drink far too much coca cola and love candy to such a degree that it's a constant struggle to keep it down. I think vegans and vegetarians have the moral high-ground, but I don't have it in me to quit meat and such. We do try to eat far more vegetarian meals/dinners than meat, though. I am a devoted Christian, but you will quickly learn that my rather perverse sense of humour is not quite suited the stereotype. It's about accepting not being perfect, not pretending you are. I don't like forcing it on people, though, so I barely ever talk about it unsolicited (well, aside from now, but this is an introduction, and it's a rather huge part of my life).
I also like it when people tell me exactly what they think or feel. I'd much rather dislike the person you are, than being unsure about what you really think. Even if I don't like you, I'm not just going to throw you out of ReV. You may very well still be an important part of the clan. And the well-being of the clan is more important than me liking you. I also appreciate if people think I'm too sugar-sweet with all the "LOVE YOU!!! <3" stuff. If it's not your cup of tea, just tell me and I'll tone it down a notch or 15 for you <3
Lastly. I am Protoss and I have decided that I WILL become a good player. I've already made some improvements and it's getting better. But it's not nearly good enough yet! We can't sit around and wait for others to win for us, and we can't hope to recruit some top players. We gotta do it ourselves - WE need to become the next generation of top players! And I believe I can, and that you can as well!
I believe in you all. And I cherish you all so very much. There are so many things I think about each and one of you that I think might make you smile. And for some of you, it'd make you blush a bit <3 (WINK, WINK)
And for those of you who don't like the sugar-talk: Fuck off you cunt and go win some games! ReV SHALL PREVAIL!

Hi guys! I'm TheSkilfulQuail- TSK or quail is fine. I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys! To explain how I got here: I'm 20 years old and I currently live in the UK as a med student. Naturally, I don't remember SC or BW coming out and growing up in a strict household and going to a small all girls school I did not discover e-sports or any kind of serious gaming until I turned about 17/18. I never had a decent pc, but my laptop for school was able to run some really basic games. I played old console games on emulator, RPGs and point and click adventures. Playing these classic titles I developed a love for games a little differently to most people my own age. The games I played were unforgiving, often buggy and usually lacked any kind of useful tutorial. This way I guess I learned to appreciate games that hurt where I had to really earn my victories. I first saw SC:R at the European launch event. During my playthough of the terran single player I faced cloaked wraiths, forgot scans existed and ended up slow turret tank pushing the computer. It was horrifically bad and later, when I remembered the add on I laughed on my own for about half an hour. I quite often play a game, lose horribly and then spend the next day puzzling over what I needed to win. That challenge, and how hot Jaedong is, had me hooked. Since then Ive watched all the ASL games countless times and played through the single player campaigns, but I've never played a ladder game. I know it's going to be a slog- I've heard about the 10-20 losses before I stand a chance (I like hard games but thats crazy). I'm hoping that joining a clan and adding a social aspect to the game will help me get through it and make up for lost time. So yes, currently I have no MMR and Im not even sure which race to pick. I feel like terran suits me best, but adore watching good zerg players. Whether I use reavers or play against them I die horribly. So I'll probably play a bit of Z and T until I decide on one race. I look forward to chatting to you all soon and losing some games!

Hello, I am dsadsadsa0, but most people on bnet shorten it to dsad. I'm 26 years old and I live in Ohio in the US.
I have some early memories of playing SC with my brother, but I didn't start taking the game seriously until March 2009 when I first saw a English cast of a professional game. I think it was on the Violetak account. From that point on I've followed the Korean scene on and off, but just recently I've gotten back into playing competitively. That's what has brought me here. I was looking for an active clan that I could have friendly practice so I could improve.
I have a few other hobbies outside of SC. I love music so I play guitar and bass. I used to be pretty hardcore into anime, but not as much recently. About two years ago, I started growing fond of Japanese indie music. I've thought of starting a blog or website where I would translate band profiles and news because in most cases there is little or no English information on these bands.
I've been practicing SC a lot recently so I hope I can give you guys a good challenge. I hope to see you all in the near future.

Hi, guys. My name's Georgi Angelov and I go by TaardadAiel on most online forums and games. I'm 29, almost 30 now, and I live in Sofia, Bulgaria. My history with Starcraft started somewhere in '98, even before BW was out. I loved the terran campaigns (and the terran soundtrack!), but I couldn't even go through the whole campaign. I played at a friend's PC, my family didn't even own a computer at the time. Then I started playing Heroes of Might and Magic, some RPG's and when WC3 came out, I started playing more seriously. I stuck to human, got myself into a clan and had a great time with friends I still keep in touch with. Somewhere during that time I discovered my love for BW and started watching competitive games and playing a little bit, but Inever got any good. Then medschool came and in the second or third year I dropped the gaming stuff entirely and focused on my studies. I rediscovered BW in the winter of 2016, when a friend of mine sent me some games from ASL2. I binge-watched both seasons of ASL, started following some streams and reading stuff on TL. Then I bought remastered for the sake of it - I have something like 15 ladder games and I've lost most of them. I play LANs with a bunch of friends once a week, usually, if schedules permit.
Outside of BW, when 90% of my time is spent, I am an anaesthesiologist in a cardiac surgery department in Sofia. I am very dedicated to my job and I love it very much, and it's demanding and time-consuming, so I have resigned that I'm not going to get even decent at BW. I still love the game and if I have some free time outside work and the time I spend with my lovely girlfriend, I like to watch a nice game or two, chat with people about BW and such. I'm not a competitive person, you could say it's the opposite, but I admire the brute technicality of the game and how demanding it is to play on a decent level at least, so I stuck with it. I'm somewhat conservative, but I'm fairly tolerant about pretty much anything, I just keep my own life conservative. I'm a metalhead, I play guitar as a hobby and most of all things on Earth I want to get some sleep, someday. Cheers, mates!

I am VertikaL, also known as Hasunico.
I'm an old man who really enjoys playing StarCraft when I have the time. Played since 2000 or thereabouts, involved in the Norwegian SC-community during both SC1 and SC2. Liked SC2 and played a lot of it but always preferred good old BW, the one true eSport. Fascinated by the Korean scene and watched a great deal of VODs during the years.
In ReV because Incomplete (aka Magnar) is a great guy, and he has the ability to attract other really nice people - and that's why this clan is so big and has been around (and will be around?) forever!
I used to play Terran but recently found out that Protoss is a lot easier at my level. Used to be killing it at TvZ, now whenver I see a defiler I run away and hide.
